  • 1 cup chopped scallions (white and green parts, about 56 scallions)

  • 1 cup chopped fresh basil leaves

  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh tarragon (or substitute with more basil)

  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • 2 teaspoons anchovy paste (optional, but adds rich umami)

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Ingredients

Wash and roughly chop the herbs. Slice scallions and mince the garlic. Measure all other ingredients.

Step 2: Blend the Dressing

In a food processor or blender, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, scallions, basil, parsley, tarragon, lemon juice, anchovy paste (if using), garlic, salt, and pepper. Blend until the herbs are finely chopped and the dressing is smooth and pale green.

Step 3: Chill Before Serving

Transfer to a jar or airtight container. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let the flavors meld. Shake or stir before use.
